In Latin America we connect entrepreneurs, companies and ecosystems with innovation and market networks using mechanisms that have proven to be successful.
FUMEC is an organization recognized by the Pacific Alliance, a regional integration initiative made up of four member countries: Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru, four countries in the process of incorporation, four associated countries and more than 40 observer countries in four continents. With this alliance, 96% of the products and services exchanged between Peru, Chile, Colombia and Mexico circulate freely.
TechBA LATAM, as a program of FUMEC, has collaborated with companies and government agencies of Colombia and Peru to generate market connections, transfer of methodologies and development of public policy, has also worked in processes of Open Innovation with Costa Rica.
In particular, in Colombia, FUMEC is an institution recognized by the government of that country through the program Aldea de Innpulsa and Ruta N to serve the sectors of Industry 4.0, Biotechnology, Health and Aeronautics.
In 2011, from the invitation of the organizations ParqueSoft, Incubar and Manizales Más, FUMEC began a work program in Colombia to develop and transfer acceleration and incubation methodologies for companies in the Biotechnology, Health and Information Technology sectors.
In 2014, the Chamber of Commerce of Barranquilla and Incubar Caribe, as well as the University of Caribe, as well as the University of the Caribe, also requested the transfer of TechBAs own international acceleration methodologies, for wich Innpulsa Colombia represented an important ally.
In that year, companies from Barranquilla, Colombia, visited TechBA in Mexico City, developed the value offer for the Mexican market, contacted key institutions in Mexico and held business meetings with mexican companies of the FUMEC network nationwide.
Also in 2014, with the support of TechBA, nine Colombian companies visited Sillicon Valley to familiarize themselves with the business ecosystem of that region.
In 2016, from the invitation of FUMEC, both Innpulsa and Ruta N integrated the binational Mexico-Colombia pavillon, which was part of the National Entrepreneur Week organized every year by the Ministry of Economy of Mexico.
In Costa Rica, with the Promotora de Comercio Exterior de Costa Rica (PROCOMER), a public entity of a non-state nature, TechBA seeks to generate more linkages among companies in that country that contribute to the export of goods and services with high added value, with a important component of innovation.
In Peru, FUMEC and Ruta N analyze the development of the innovation ecosystem of the province of Mariscal Nieto. TechBA Mexico received the visit of representatives of the town of Moquegua, Peru, as part of the Entrepreneur Week 2018.
