Since 1991, Loyo serves as the General Director at the National Laboratory on Advanced Computer Science (LANIA). She graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) with a degree in Mathematics and holds a Master and PhD in Applied Mathematics from the Paris VI University.
As professor and researcher at the UNAM (1976-1991), she participated in scientific research and the development of specialized human resources. She has also been an active member of steering committees such as: the Forum of Permanent Consult of Science and Technology of the Federal Executive, the Mexican Association of Executives of Applied Research and Technological Development (ADIAT) and the University Consortium for the Development of Internet (CUDI), among others.
Loyo has also contributed to the promotion of the formation of national and international academic groups such as: LANIA, the Network of Informatics Development and Research of CONACYT (REDII), the Informatics French-Mexican Laboratory (LAFMI) and the Mexican Society of Computer Science (SMCC).
