Cipriano Santos is a well-known scientist carrying out an operation research at the Hewelett Packard Laboratories (HP). His technical achievements in 2004 were rewarded with the Award to National Achievement of the HENAAC Association of Hispanic Engineers.
Santos is widely known for his experience regarding optimization through mathematical models. His distributed computer work is a major element of the Adapting Enterprise Program of HP that allows companies to modify in a simple way their IT infrastructure and use the HP support to aid projects.
He was a key factor in a project to simplify money transfer between Mexicans working in U.S.A. and their families in their native country. Likewise, he started a program to send Latin American students to the laboratories at the Headquarters of HP in Palo Alto, California for summer internships.
Santos has obtained the registry of 17 patents and is Associate Editor of the Journal of Heuristics. He has been recognized with the Award to Excellence by the Office of the President of Mexico.
