On October 29th, more than 100 representatives from the academic, business, educational areas and Mexican government agencies gathered at the residence of US Ambassador to Mexico on the occasion of the annual reception organized by the Embassy in honor occurred the FUMEC Board of Governors.
After a private meeting between William Duncan, Charge d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Mexico, and members of the FUMEC Board, the Embassy representative said a few words to the audience..
FUMEC is a very important ally in priority issues for the Embassy as the Mexico-United States Council for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (MUSEIC) and the Bilateral Forum on Higher Education, Research and Innovation (FOBESII), Duncan said.
Charge d'Affaires also highlighted the work of FUMEC on entrepreneurship issues and the implementation of programs such as I-Corps and the University-Industry Consortiums known as I/UCRC, where FUMEC has worked with support of the Embassy.
"Our sincere congratulations to FUMEC for their great achievements and for their tireless work. We appreciate your work for strengthening collaboration between sectors critical to the progress of our countries in the XXI century", he concluded.
In his speech, Juan Lopez de Silanes, Chairman of the Governing Board of FUMEC thanked the allies of FUMEC and said that "the work of the Foundation and its allies has allowed us to show how far we can go and how much we can benefit if we bring knowledge to the people, if we can bring the right tools to teachers, students, business people and organizations that are growing our economies with what they learned in the classroom and in small and medium enterprises".
This annual reception allows allies and friends of FUMEC better know each other and extends the possibilities for synergies between actors who do not always have opportunity to meet.
