The Business Strengthening Program was concluded in December 2017; this program supported and advised a group of 12 Hidalgo companies in the agro-industrial and information and communication technologies sectors in order to boost their innovative capacity and increase their competitiveness.
The program was jointly designed by the Council of Science and Technology and Innovation of Hidalgo (CITNOVA in Spanish) and FUMEC, which was in charge of providing training and advice for the companies.
With this initiative, which began operations in March 2016, it was possible to influence and promote innovation in the products and processes of the beneficiaries. In addition, with the use of different methodologies and tools of technological and business assistance, it was sought to increase the competitiveness of the companies, as well as to link them with key local actors in order to strengthen their capacities.
FUMEC provided advice through the development of Technological Route Maps, taking into account the needs of each company.
"With the road map, they helped us to identify the trends of our sector. That helped us to have a better organization, which generated new customers and new sales strategies, "said Jorge Cardoso, director of Twynco, a company that creates technology solutions for companies and institutions.
The program helped to refocus the operations of some companies and eliminate processes that did not contribute to their productivity. "My company emerges from this program as a brand new company," said José Luis Orozco, director of Sinntec, a company dedicated to the manufacture of software.
The program was also useful for companies that already have products or services with potential for export. "With FUMEC we even work on a new project that has to do with the internationalization of our products," said Oscar Martínez, director of Kioru, a software and hardware development company.
FUMEC consultants analyzed the value proposition of each company in order to improve it and to link entrepreneurs with other supports available in the state and regional ecosystems, to find sources of economic support and external advice, as well as a plan for the Development of the Technological Management and Innovation Model that summarizes and validates the competitive capacities of companies.
