Innovation in STEM Education

Mexico and the United States face a growing demand of technological and scientific talent able to generate new ideas and eager to be at the innovation’s forefront. Binational collaboration can be tool for covering this need because both countries require training more scientist and engineers that count with the academic tools and the vision to identify opportunities for technological development.

For this reason, it is imperative to encourage high school students to purse careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and this is precisely the goal of the Innovation in STEM Program.

The STEM Program is inspired by the best practices from the United States, an internationally acclaimed, innovative program whose study plan is based on real projects within companies, allowing students to become familiar with their future work environment.

The STEM program seeks to enhance the quality of life of young people by giving them the opportunity to obtain well-paid jobs and even the possibility to develop new ventures with innovative products and services.

The achievements of the STEM program have a direct impact on both countries’ economies by providing them with qualified human resources that implement actions oriented to strengthen the industrial sector and, at the same time, contribute to improve competitiveness in the North American region.
