“Mexico is regarded as the best destination in American continent to establish an information technology (IT) company, and the sixth worldwide, with a value in the industry of around 17 thousand billion dollars, figure that will grow to more than 21 thousand billion dollars to 2017,” said Ivan Zavala IT Coordinator of TechBA citing studies by ProMéxico.
The largest number of IT companies is concentrated in the metropolitan area of Mexico Coty, with 34 in Mexico City and five in the State of Mexico. Therefore, in order to support this sector, FUMEC, Prosoftware and the Mexican Council of Science and Technology (COMECYT) organized an event to raise awareness of TIC companies about the support that exists for them.
"We want to create an interesting ecosystem between key institutions for the development of IT companies. With our program, we will give entrepreneurs a vision and a market study to have opportunities to national and international level", said Jaime Loé, FUMEC Regional Coordinator.
This program uses the methodology of the Business Technology Assistance System (SATE in Spanish), which will support the diagnosis of companies entering the program, to be able to generate a plan in accordance with their needs, in order to develop a value offering and a roadmap that allows them to develop projects for the short, medium and long terms.
Some of the services that will be offered are: one to one technical and business assistance; support for the management and presentation of innovative projects to be financed by Government funds; liaison with universities, research centers and potential buyers, as well as innovation and foreign trade workshops linked to the Ministry of Economic Development of the State of Mexico, with the intention of knowing the capabilities of exporting companies.
"The ultimate goal is to generate along with the company, business and technological capabilities that can help them penetrate different markets, always with the generation of innovation projects", said Renata Zárate, FUMEC Business Technology Consultant.
During the event, the possibility of creating a metropolitan cluster with the companies that will be advised by FUMEC was foresaw in order to become a strategic collaboration model and favor the growing of the industry in Mexico.
Also present at this event were Oscar Rivera, President of Prosoftware; as well as COMECYT specialists that attended to inform entrepreneurs about the supports available for companies coming from the State of Mexico.
