Advanced Manufacturing

Mexico has one of the best-developed manufacturing sectors in Latin America. Manufacturing contributes with more than a fifth part of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the country, and it is one of the most attractive areas for attracting foreign investment in this country given the existence of advanced manufacturing sectors with high growth potential.

One of the advantages that Mexico offers against other countries is the presence of production chains in sectors such as automotive, aerospace and electronics, and also an interesting growth in areas like embedded software.

According to The Boston Consulting Group, in advanced manufacturing sectors such as the automotive industry, Mexico offers competitive advantages such as: a good infrastructure, enough human resources and the presence of an established base of providers.

In the case of the aerospace industry, Mexico has more than 190 business that are now taking advantage of the opportunities offered by Mexico in this industry. These advantages include its strategic geographical location in the global and regional context, and the growing presence of world class companies that have decided to invest in Mexico, like Lockheed Martin, Bombardier, Honeywell and General Electric.
